After some weeks…Small changes…

First of all, a card payment system in our hospital. All hospitals in our surroundings started with a system whereby customers, patients and their families, pay their hospital bill using a prepaid card. Some friends back home seemed to be a bit surprised when I informed them by email or skype about this, but no worries. In a country where almost everything, including payments, already happens by phone, the switch from cash payment to card payment should not make a big difference for our customers. The system has been proven effective and well accepted by the population in our surrounding hospitals. So although, this might be only a small change for the patients and their families, we hope for a big change in the hospital financial management. The system transfers the money immediately on a separate bank account that belongs to the hospital while the management of the hospital can follow transactions online, also the auditing should be made easier and more transparent this way.

Our visitors

Since three weeks we also have some visitors.

One student nurse from Denmark who is very committed and interested in learning about the daily patient care in the hospital and three engineer students. With a lot of hospital equipment that needs repairs, their assistance is highly appreciated. They will set up a system whereby they will make timetables that indicate the maintenance time for each machine, in order to keep our machines on strict maintenance schedules… a great idea…

We also have a very experienced orthopedic surgeon visiting the hospital for a period of three weeks, working together on improving trauma care in close collaboration with our local orthopedic surgeon.

Visitors in the coming weeks… to be continued…

We continue to make small changes, all of these, discussed by a dedicated management team in the hospital during weekly meetings. As soon as our payment system is set up and working, I’ll send some pictures… expected in three weeks from now!
